Chromium Carbide

Chromium Carbide Overlay plate also known as CrC is a extra hard plate with additives that give even higher abrasion resistance to wear applications with moderate to low impact conditions.

Plate can be cut, formed or rolled. The unique overlaying process produces plate with a surface that is harder, tougher and more wear resistant to common 400 BHN materials.

Plate hardness varies between 58-62 HRC, i.e. approx 600 BHN / 800 Vickers HV. Our plate sizes are available in 3000mm x 1500mm in thicknesses:

8mm (4/4), 10mm (5/5), 12mm (6/6), 16mm(8/8), 20mm (10/10) & 25mm (12/13). Other thicknesses including double layer cladding can be manufactured but, subject to special ordering.
